Dinnerstein Debuts Dance Collaboration

Duke Performances, Peak Performances, Summer Stages at the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston, and Opening Nights Performing Arts have commissioned New Work for Goldberg Variations, a new collaboration from Simone Dinnerstein and choreographer Pam Tanowitz. New Work for Goldberg Variations, an evening-long piece for piano and seven dancers, premiered in October 2017 at Duke Performances to great critical acclaim.

“How brilliant of [Dinnerstein], despite the great fame of her score, to hold back on the fireworks and choose what she actually needed.” – Joan Acocella, The New Yorker

“Ms. Dinnerstein plays in a free and unorthodox interpretation that by itself is well worth the price of admission.” – New York Times on New Work for Goldberg Variations

"The humble-sounding title accurately announces a rare achievement." – New York Times on New Work for Goldberg Variations
